Total Spanish Immersion Program in Xela Guatemala
Become immersed in the Spanish language by learning with all 4 learning styles. SISAI Spanish teachers are trained to teach Spanish in all four learning styles. SISAI Gives Back To The Xela Community
Another reason SISAI is one of the best Spanish schools in Xela is that it is a not-for-profit cooperative Spanish school. That means that all the teachers share in the income and expenses. Any money that is remaining goes to support the scholarship program called Educación Para Los Niños. Often times a family cannot afford to pay for the uniform, shoes, backpacks, or school supplies. That means the child cannot attend school. This program helps to support 75 local families by providing school uniforms, shoes, backpacks and school supplies to the children in need.
Name Change: Juan Sisay is now SISAI Spanish School
The Spanish school has been around since 1989 and has taught thousands of students throughout the world how to speak Spanish. Many students are referred to the school by word-of-mouth. Some remember the old name Juan Sisay when referring friends to the school.
In 2014 the school announced changes to the organization. For the evolution and growth of the school, a new name and logo and was created to better identify with what the school stands for. The new design represents an effort on the school to mark a new phase in their story.
Changing the name from JUAN SISAY to SISAI; which is an acronym for Intercultural Academic System. (Sistema Académico Intercultural)
The new logo represents the tree sacred to the Mayans, the Cieba. The image conveys the Mayan belief of the underworld, the world and the heavens.
